In 2018, I had the exciting opportunity to work with Kazoo Magazine, a "magazine for girls who aren't afraid to make some noise".
Geared toward ages 5-12, Kazoo celebrates girls for being strong, smart, fierce, and above all, true to themselves. Issues contain articles written by female congress members, basketball players, comedians--to name a few--alongside fun DIY activities, puzzles, and illustrations.
Kazoo tasked me to hand-letter the content on their covers, which would be paired with their illustrator's drawings to make a playful, fun, colorful, and approachable cover.
Kazoo provided me the copy, theme for that month's issue, and a general vision for the lettering. They also wanted the ability to change the colors if necessary, so I worked primarily in a vector format using Illustrator Draw on the Procreate app for the iPad Pro.
By the end of 2018 I had lettered three different issues of and contributed an original poster design, "Keep Growing", for the Small But Mighty Issue (below).
I'm really grateful to have worked with Kazoo since we share the same passion to empower women of the future!
